APA SimplifiedAt less than 50 pages, APA Simplified is ideal if you want a quick reference guide to provide students with examples of citations and references. Short sections on finding appropriate research and writing an APA style paper are also included in addition to a complete, heavily annotated student paper on mindfulness meditation as a treatment for Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and a heavily annotated professional paper (an article I've been unsuccessfully shopping around for a while on odor and memory).

APA BasicsAPA Basics goes into far more depth about writing an APA style paper, and as the title says, helps students from the very start of finding a topic through the creation of a final paper that they will be proud of. Examples from student papers provide guidance on writing from the opening paragraph through the thesis statement, the body of the paper, and the concluding paragraph. A complete, heavily annotated student paper comparing/contrasting treatments for Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is included, as well as a heavily annotated professional paper.

APA Style DisastersAPA Style Disasters goes into even more depth about writing an APA style paper and specifically the types of errors students are likely to make in their papers with citations, references, numbers, statistics, etc. Heavily annotated students papers are included for each grade level (A, B, C, D, and F) so students can understand not just what "perfect" APA style papers look like, but why a "C" paper is a "C" paper, and how it can be edited and revised into an "A" paper. This is the most comprehensive book on student writing of APA style and the errors they are likely to make.

Why you should incorporate our books into your classroom
1. Examples from actual student papers
The books incorporate hundreds of examples of student writing, so that students can see actual student papers and the mistakes they make - not just “perfect” examples of papers presented in other books on APA style
2. Videos to help teach about APA style
Over a dozen videos on finding sources, avoiding plagiarism, the differences between A-F papers, citing social media, and lots more (with more videos always being made) will help your students learn about writing at their convenience
3. Contact with the author
Questions? Problems? New materials? I’m both the author of these books and a fellow college professor, NOT just a book rep who has to deal with hundreds of professors in dozens of disciplines while juggling thousands of titles
4. Free worksheets and testing materials
I provide you with the same worksheets on APA style that I use in my own classes, both in paper form (as PDFs or Word docs) or as an online module you can add to Blackboard (a module for Canvas is in development)
5. Reviews from students and faculty
Don't take my word for it, check out the reviews on Amazon! These books are highly regarded by the students who are using them. They’re helpful, clear, and leading to better student papers
6. Cost
Print copies of APA Simplified cost $9.95, APA Basics is $14.95, and APA Style Disasters is $19.95. The Kindle versions cost even less. Are there cheaper books on APA style? Nope. Are they as comprehensive? Nope. Do they have tons of supplemental materials? Nope
